1. RHYTHMS IN HUMAN NATURE
27
Vortices spin with fractal independence of scale all through the biosphere and beyond in solar and galactic media. The vortices in near contact with each other influence each other and are subject to influence on all scales.
Spiral waves: galaxy, hurricane, slime molds, cellular processes -- all with rhythmic unfoldings Vortices in nature do not spin in perfect circles or cylinders. They are bent spirals. They move from one place to another. Matter is pulled up and through them. A hurricane is a vortex that moves in the fluid medium of the atmosphere along a track influenced by barometric pressure differences, prevailing winds and currents, water and air temperature and whatever else produces turbulence within the medium, including other vortices. These spiral movements have been permanent factors for change on earth. They pull on each other to produce the frequencies we have found inherent in the tissue of life. |
